Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Child Care Director to oversee daily operations within our early childhood education center. This leadership role involves managing staff, ensuring compliance with safety and educational standards, and fostering a nurturing environment for children. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in education, administration, and working with young learners, with a passion for supporting both staff and families. Prior university experience or higher education teaching experience is highly desirable, along with a solid understanding of education administration and student engagement. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to the development of young children while supporting a professional team committed to excellence in early childhood education. You will oversee the daily operations of the center, recruit new students, and manage your employees. We are a Gold Seal Preschool, contracted with the Early Learning Coalition, have the USDA Food program, and offer VPK. Center hours are 6:45 AM to 5:45 PM
Responsibilities
- Assist in developing and implementing educational programs that promote child development and learning
- Supervise and support teaching staff, ensuring adherence to curriculum standards and best practices
- Coordinate daily center operations, including enrollment, scheduling, and compliance with licensing regulations
- Foster positive relationships with children, families, and staff to create a welcoming environment
- Oversee safety protocols and ensure the center maintains a clean, safe, and engaging space for children
- Support staff recruitment, training, and professional development initiatives
- Assist in administrative tasks such as record keeping, reporting, and maintaining compliance with state and federal regulations
- Collaborate with educational partners or institutions to enhance program offerings and community engagement
Skills
- Experience working with students or young children in an educational setting
- Background in higher education teaching or university-level experience preferred
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage staff effectively
- Knowledge of education administration practices and licensing requirements for childcare centers
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with children, parents, staff, and community partners
- Ability to organize multiple priorities efficiently while maintaining attention to detail
- Passion for early childhood development and creating enriching learning environments

Pay: $45,000.00 - $52,000.00 per year
