Legacy Talent Search is currently seeking candidates for a Manual Machinist role in Woodburn, OR. Key Responsibilities:
- Set up, operate, and maintain manual machining equipment, including lathes, mills, and grinders.
- Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions to produce high-precision parts.
- Measure and inspect finished components using calipers, micrometers, and other precision tools to ensure adherence to specifications.
- Perform routine maintenance and adjustments on machines to ensure optimal performance.
- Select appropriate tooling, speeds, and feeds for various materials and machining operations.
- Deburr, polish, and finish parts to meet quality and customer requirements.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment in accordance with safety standards.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production schedules and resolve machining challenges.
- Accurately document work performed, materials used, and inspection results.
- Identify and report equipment issues, material defects, or process improvements.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or apprenticeship in machining preferred.
- 3+ years of experience operating manual machining equipment.
- Strong understanding of machining principles, tooling, and materials.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Proficiency with precision measuring instruments.
- Ability to lift up to 50+ lbs and stand for extended periods in a shop environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Willingness to work assigned shifts and overtime as needed.
