Position Summary:
The Outpatient Behavioral Health Therapist provides compassionate, patient-centered behavioral health services (groups and 1:1) to support the mental and emotional well-being of patients across the hospital and community. This position works collaboratively with providers and interdisciplinary teams to deliver therapeutic interventions, coordinate care, and promote positive patient outcomes through assessment, counseling, education, and discharge planning.
Status: Full-Time / Part-Time options; Days; Non-Exempt
Market Range: $28.00 - $46.00 / hour depending on applicable licensure, certification and years of relevant experience.
Education
- Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or related Behavioral Health field
- Previous clinical experience in behavioral health preferred
- Experience working with geriatric or adult populations preferred
Licensure/Certification
- Current Illinois LCSW, LCPC, LMFT, or equivalent licensure required (or ability to obtain within designated timeframe. Current Illinois LSW (Part-Time availability only)
- Current BLS certification required or willingness to obtain within 6 months of hire
Competencies and Skills
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills
- Ability to provide individual and group therapeutic interventions
- Knowledge of behavioral health assessment, treatment planning, and crisis intervention
- Ability to maintain accurate and timely documentation
- Ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary healthcare environment
- Commitment to patient confidentiality, safety, and professional ethics
