Compensation: $24/hour during temporary assignment | $45,000-$50,000 annual salary + benefits upon conversion
Our client, a mission-driven workforce development organization serving communities throughout New York City, is seeking a Workforce Readiness Facilitator to deliver engaging career-focused training programs that help individuals prepare for employment, education, and long-term career success.
This position is ideal for professionals who are passionate about teaching, coaching, mentoring, or workforce development and who enjoy helping others build confidence, develop workplace skills, and navigate career pathways.
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting adult learners through interactive workshops, career exploration activities, and employment readiness programs designed to increase job placement and retention outcomes.
As a Workforce Readiness Facilitator, you will guide participants through a variety of career development and employment preparation activities. Working closely with case management and employer engagement teams, you will help ensure participants are equipped with the skills, knowledge, and resources necessary to compete in today's job market.
This role combines classroom facilitation, curriculum development, participant coaching, and program administration in a collaborative, community-focused environment.
- Deliver engaging workshops focused on job readiness, workplace professionalism, communication skills, and career exploration.
- Facilitate both individual and group learning activities designed for adult learners.
- Create an encouraging and inclusive learning environment that promotes participation and growth.
- Adapt training content to address varying learning styles and participant needs.
- Design and update lesson plans, presentations, training materials, and workshop activities.
- Ensure instructional content reflects current employment trends and workforce demands.
- Develop practical exercises that strengthen workplace readiness and career decision-making skills.
- Continuously improve training content based on participant feedback and program outcomes.
- Assist participants with career exploration and goal setting.
- Support job search efforts, resume development, and interview preparation activities.
- Provide guidance regarding education, vocational training, industry certifications, and career advancement opportunities.
- Encourage participants to pursue sustainable employment and long-term professional growth.
- Partner with case managers and employer engagement staff to align training activities with participant goals and hiring opportunities.
- Monitor participant progress and identify areas where additional support may be needed.
- Contribute to program improvement initiatives and workforce development strategies.
- Maintain attendance records, class rosters, participant files, and training documentation.
- Track participant engagement and progress throughout the training process.
- Prepare reports and complete required documentation within established timelines.
- Issue certificates of completion and support program compliance requirements.
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Strong presentation, communication, and facilitation skills.
- Ability to engage diverse audiences in both classroom and workshop settings.
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Experience teaching, training, coaching, mentoring, tutoring, or facilitating adult learning programs.
- Background in workforce development, employment services, education, nonprofit programs, or community services.
- Knowledge of adult learning principles and learner-centered instructional practices.
- Experience supporting individuals facing barriers to employment.
- Familiarity with Salesforce, Microsoft Teams, and SharePoint.
