Seeking a Mohs Histotechnologistfor a dynamic dermatology practice.
Lucent Dermatology and Skin Surgery Center seeks an energetic, team-oriented Mohs histotechnologist. We are looking for an individual who is dependable, interacts well with people, has a positive attitude, and is a team player.
Hours: Full time or Part time
Pay: Competitive
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Grossing specimens and assuring each specimen is properly prepared for processing tissue
- Processing frozen section slides using a cryostat microtome for diagnosis by surgeon
- Preparing and maintaining materials required for staining and histologic examination
- Evaluate equipment and reagent systems.
- Clean up lab equipment.
- Dispose of reagents as needed
- Maintains manual logbooks and file slides for the dermatology office.
- Prepare labels to corresponding slides to ensure accuracy.
- Maintaining laboratory equipment
- Documents daily equipment maintenance, reagent filtering and exchanges, temperature logs, and quality control forms.
- Maintain Laboratory Procedures in compliance with CLIA and state of Ohio regulations.
- Report deviations from or any abnormalities to the Mohs surgeon for further study or examination.
Qualifications
Experience:
- 12 months of experience as a Histotech Mohs technician. (Preferred)
- Demonstrates proficiency in frozen sectioning and staining techniques. (Preferred)
- Demonstrates the ability to perform and troubleshoot the Hematoxylin and Eosin stain used in Mohs surgery. (Preferred)
Education:
- Associate of Science degree (Preferred)
- High school diploma or GED equivalent (if applicant has 1+ years of experience)
