Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented HVAC Insulation Estimator to join our small minority business enterprise team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for accurately estimating the costs of process piping and HVAC insulation projects, reviewing construction drawings, and managing project budgets from inception to completion. Your expertise will help ensure competitive pricing, effective cost control, and successful project delivery. Responsibilities
- Review and interpret detailed construction drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications to determine insulation material requirements.
- Prepare comprehensive cost estimates for insulation projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor services.
- Utilize estimating software such as HeavyBid and Xactimate to develop accurate project budgets and bids.
- Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and clients through negotiation to establish fair pricing and scope of work.
- Manage project estimates by tracking changes, updating budgets, and ensuring alignment with project goals and contracts.
- Conduct site visits to assess existing conditions, verify measurements, and gather data for precise estimation.
- Oversee procurement processes by sourcing materials efficiently while maintaining cost control standards.
Requirements
- Some experience managing construction estimates with a focus on insulation or related trades.
- Strong proficiency in construction drawing review and interpreting technical documents.
- Skilled in estimating material requirements from blueprints using Bluebeam or similar software.
- Familiarity with estimating tools such as FastWrap for accurate bid development.
- Excellent negotiation skills to secure favorable contracts with suppliers and subcontractors.
- Knowledge of construction site operations, safety standards, and project management principles.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
- Some construction experience with a solid understanding of contracts, cost management, and project budgeting is essential.
