We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Lead Teacher to join our childcare center. The Lead Teacher will be responsible for creating a nurturing and stimulating environment for children, developing curriculum, and supervising assistant teachers.

Responsibilities:

Observe individual children and utilize those observations to develop lesson plans and activities based on the strengths, needs, and interests of the children.

Create a safe and engaging learning environment for children.

Supervise and guide assistant teachers and volunteers.
-
Observe and assess children's development and progress.
-
Communicate regularly with parents and provide updates on their child's progress.
-
Keep the classroom and bathrooms neat and orderly.

Handle discipline in a prompt manner and in accordance with Bright Minds Academy procedures.

Act as a positive role model and provide positive reinforcement for children.

Create daily reports for each child that focuses on behavior and lessons learned, including a photo or video every day for each child.

Implement and follow the daily schedule.

Maintain accurate records and documentation.

Ensure compliance with all licensing regulations and center policies.

Must meet or exceed all Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) and National Early Childhood Program Accreditation (NECPA) requirements.

Associate or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field or a child development associate credential is preferred, but will consider others based on experience.

Previous experience working with young children in a childcare setting.

Strong understanding of child development principles.

Age-Specific Responsibilities:
- Infant

Infant Safety and Health Practices: Knowledge of safe sleep practices, feeding guidelines, hygiene standards, and emergency procedures for infants.

Patience and Compassion: The ability to remain patient and understanding while caring for infants, who may be fussy, crying, or have varying needs.

Physical Stamina: The ability to lift, carry, and play with infants for extended periods, as well as being able to engage in activities on the floor or at low levels.

Ability to complete additional annual training in infant-related topics.

Toddler

Understanding of toddler development, milestones, and age-appropriate activities.

Strong communication, patience, creativity, and organizational skills are essential. Teachers must be able to engage with toddlers and their families effectively.

Assist with feeding, diapering, and toilet training as needed.

Preschool

Create a safe and stimulating classroom environment that encourages learning and exploration.

Supervise and interact with children during indoor and outdoor activities.
