Responsibilities may include:
- Working closely with assigned Team, Supervisors, and Managers
- Mentoring and helping the Junior tax pros assigned to your team
- Preparing all necessary business and individual tax returns
- Following firm-wide working paper preparation and retention protocols
- Researching tax questions and issues in order to provide accurate tax assessment
- Entering all tax return data into professional tax software and quality check work
- Review individual, corporate, partnership, and fiduciary tax returns for accuracy and compliance
- Explain and cross-promote other tax, accounting, and entity services based on client's needs
- Lite data entry to create financial statements
- Promptly answering incoming telephone calls
- Promptly returning email messages
- Being a positive and productive team member by encouraging others and doing your best to achieve company goals
- Attending all scheduled meetings
- Accepting responsibility for mistakes and learn from them, and point out when you don't understand something or when you receive conflicting information
- Maintaining a positive and productive work setting
Qualifications Include:
- Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, professional)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Quickbooks experience, a plus but not required
- Ability to learn new computer software (Drake, Proseries, Ultra Tax experience is a plus)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
- Ability to meet deadlines with a positive attitude
- Ability to problem solve and stay self motivated
- Ability to lead and be a positive mentor within your team
- BA or EA preferred but not required
- 5 years tax preparation experience preferred for Tax Pro & Tax Manager
