Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Bookkeeper to join our dynamic finance team. Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day bookkeeping activities including data entry, journal entries, and account reconciliations using QuickBooks Online accounting software.
- Perform bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial data across multiple accounts
- Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections
- Maintain the general ledger by recording transactions accurately in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
- Prepare financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements for internal review and external reporting purposes
- Conduct account analysis and general ledger reconciliation to verify the integrity of financial data
- Assist with payroll processing, tax filings, and governmental accounting requirements as needed
Skills
- Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, Quicken, or similar platforms
- Strong understanding of double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, journal entries, and general ledger accounting
- Knowledge of financial concepts including budgeting, account reconciliation, bank reconciliation, and account analysis
- Experience with governmental accounting standards and non-profit accounting practices is a plus
- Ability to perform 10 key typing efficiently for data entry tasks
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to perform accurate account reconciliation and balance sheet reconciliation
- Familiarity with payroll processing, tax experience, and financial report writing
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
