Job Overview
The Loader Operator is responsible for loading and unloading trucks, operating equipment, managing inventory, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment. This role helps keep materials moving efficiently while supporting daily operations at the Coverall facility.
Key Responsibilities
Truck Loading & Unloading
- Load and unload hopper-bottom trailers safely and efficiently.
- Pre-load trailers for company drivers.
- Assist outside carriers with loading and unloading.
- Monitor truck traffic and help reduce customer wait times.
- Move trailers throughout the facility using the yard dog when needed.
- Wash and clean empty trailers.
Equipment Operation & Inventory
- Operate front-end loaders and other equipment safely.
- Move ingredients into designated storage areas.
- Maintain organized inventory and follow inventory rotation practices.
- Monitor inventory levels and report concerns.
- Complete inventory records and required paperwork.
Facility Maintenance
- Keep the facility clean, organized, and safe.
- Sweep floors and clean work areas daily.
- Maintain organized storage bays.
- Complete daily equipment inspections and report maintenance needs.
- Help protect product quality by following housekeeping standards.
Safety & Compliance
- Follow all safety procedures and company policies.
- Perform pre-operation equipment inspections.
- Report safety concerns and equipment issues promptly.
- Prevent product contamination through proper material handling and storage.
- Support feed safety and quality standards.
Additional Duties
- Assist with feed, grain, and agronomy operations as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Experience operating loaders, forklifts, yard dogs, or similar equipment preferred.
- Agricultural, feed, grain, or bulk material handling experience is a plus.
- Class A CDL preferred but not required.
- Ability to operate equipment safely and follow procedures.
- Basic computer skills for inventory tracking and documentation.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
- Ability to lift, carry, and move materials and work in varying weather conditions.
- Comfortable working in dusty environments typical of agricultural operations.
