Duties
- Safely operate various types of vehicles, including commercial trucks, to deliver goods along designated routes while adhering to all DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations.
- Plan and follow efficient delivery routes, utilizing organizational skills to maximize productivity.
- Load and unload merchandise with proper lifting techniques, ensuring safe handling of heavy items and merchandise presentation at retail locations.
- Communicate effectively with clients and team members to confirm delivery details, resolve issues, and build strong customer relationships.
- Upsell additional products or services when appropriate, enhancing sales opportunities during deliveries.
- Maintain accurate delivery records, logs, and documentation in compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and perform basic maintenance checks to ensure safety and reliability on the road.
Requirements
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record; experience in commercial truck driving is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of route driving, traffic laws, and safe lifting practices for heavy lifting tasks.
- Basic math skills for calculating pricing, measurements, and quantities accurately.
- Proven ability to communicate clearly and professionally with customers and team members.
- Retail store experience or familiarity with merchandising is a plus for understanding product placement and presentation.
- Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple deliveries efficiently throughout the day.
- Ability to handle physically demanding tasks including heavy lifting while maintaining safety standards.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations related to commercial transportation is highly desirable.
