Job Summary
We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Production Operator / Machine Operator to support manufacturing operations in a cGMP-regulated pharmaceutical production environment. The Production Assistant will work closely with Encapsulation Operators to support the manufacturing of softgel products, including capsule inspection, tray preparation, material handling, equipment cleaning, and general production activities.
This is a hands-on manufacturing position ideal for candidates who are comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment, following detailed procedures, and maintaining high standards for quality, safety, and GMP compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Visually inspect softgel capsules for defects and promptly communicate quality concerns to Operators and Supervisors.
- Spread, arrange, and properly stage softgel capsules on drying trays according to established procedures.
- Assemble, handle, move, and stage stacks of trays containing manufactured softgels.
- Clean production equipment, tools, and work areas in accordance with SOPs, GMP, and safety requirements.
- Assist with material handling, including transporting trays, supplies, and other production materials.
- Support Encapsulation Operators with machine operation, equipment setup, changeovers, and other production activities as directed.
- Maintain adequate supplies of tray paper, gloves, and other materials required for production.
- Follow all applicable GMP, safety, quality, and documentation procedures.
- Immediately report product quality concerns, deviations, equipment issues, or unsafe conditions to supervision.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe manufacturing environment.
- Perform additional production and manufacturing support duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Previous manufacturing, production, pharmaceutical, food, or other regulated-industry experience is preferred.
- Previous experience working in a GMP/cGMP-regulated environment is a plus.
- Ability to read, understand, and follow written and verbal work instructions, SOPs, diagrams, and production schedules.
- Basic computer skills, including Windows navigation and data entry.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Basic mathematical skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals, and units of measure.
- Ability to identify and solve routine production-related problems.
- Strong attention to detail, particularly when performing visual inspection of manufactured products.
- Ability to multitask, work under pressure, and meet production deadlines.
- Ability and willingness to follow strict safety, quality, and GMP requirements.
Pay: $16.89 - $19.35 per hour
