Compulsory & Optional Gymnastics Coach
About the Role We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Gymnastics Coach to work with our program across both Compulsory and Optional levels. You will play a key role in developing athletes from the foundational compulsory years through the advanced optional levels, building strong technique, competitive readiness, and a lifelong passion for the sport. Responsibilities
- Teach and progress skills across all four events (vault, bars, beam, floor)
- Develop and refine compulsory routines with attention to execution, form, and deduction reduction
- Choreograph and coach optional routines that showcase each athlete's individual strengths
- Prepare athletes for local, state, and regional USAG competitions including meet-day coaching
- Track athlete development, set short- and long-term goals, and maintain open communication with parents and gym leadership
- Foster a safe, positive, and high-performance training environment
- Attend competitions, team events, and professional development clinics as required
- Adhere to all USA Gymnastics rules, policies, and SafeSport guidelines
Requirements
- Current USAG membership (required)
- Demonstrated experience coaching USAG compulsory and/or optional levels
- Prior experience in competitive gymnastics, either as a coach or athlete
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain before start date)
- knowledge of USAG D.P code of points and level progressions
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Background check required
Preferred Qualifications
- USAG professional development certifications or ratings
- Background in gymnastics education
- Ability to coach across both compulsory and optional levels
