Job Title: Food Service Manager
Reports to: Food Service Director

Position Type: Full-Time (40 hours per week)

JOB GOAL:
Prepare and serve nutritious, appetizing meals to students in a professional and enthusiastic manner.
QUALIFICATIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- High school diploma or graduate certificate/GED required.
- Experience in the preparation of large quantities of food with use of commercial kitchen
equipment is desirable.
- Effectively manage and supervise employees within your kitchen.
- Ability to stand and walk on hard floors and to withstand hot and cold temperatures.
- Ability to lift and carry food items or cases weighing up to forty (40) pounds.
- Desire to put forth best effort in any assigned duties.
- Prepare a variety of foods by following standardized recipes and menus.
- Set up steam tables, serving lines, and observe required portion controls.
- Ability to convert recipes to quantities as needed.
- Physical ability to work rapidly and efficiently.
- Personality to communicate effectively with co-workers, other school personnel and students.
- Store and dispose of excess food properly.
- Maintain clean dining area, wash, sanitize, and store dishes and kitchen utensils, sanitize
counters and tables, and chairs – mop floors and dispose of waste properly.
- Ensure cleanliness of all kitchen equipment such as ovens, warmers, coolers, skillets, etc.
- Prepare daily bank deposits and maintain accurate inventory records.
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Report to work at scheduled time properly dressed and well groomed.
- Adhere to all school district rules and regulations. (time clocks, leave, breaks, etc.)
- Utilize proper hand washing techniques.
- Participate in meeting, training sessions and seminars, as scheduled.
- Complete any other tasks as assigned.
Employment Terms: To be determined by School Board in compliance with already established job calendar days.
Evaluation: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of the North Pike School
District Board’s policy on evaluation of non-classified personnel.
