As a Bar Back in our iconic venues, you'll keep the bar running smoothly. You'll stock and clean the bar and perform related tasks to increase the efficiency and productivity of the bartending team in a highvolume, music-fueled environment. As the ideal candidate, you're fast and focused, understanding that every shift is about delivering unforgettable experiences.
- Set up, stock, and maintain work areas. Restock ice bins, beverages, kegs, plasticware, etc.,
- Clear and clean bar top as needed.
- Keep all beverage storage areas clean and organized at all times. Assist with inventory, product rotation (FIFO), and date labeling to ensure fresh products are readily available for preparation.
- Perform defined opening, running, and closing duties as assigned.
- Comply with bar weekly deep cleaning schedule. Put all trash and recyclable products in proper receptacles. Make sure trash receptacles are clean and odor-free.
- Attend pre-shift meetings. Stay informed of current menu items and descriptions.
- Communicate daily entertainment and upcoming events in venue with guests.
- Ensure responsible alcohol service per local ordinance, alcohol awareness training and company policies.
- Keep the bar area clean and organized, including washing glassware, bussing bar top, clearing bar and service bar, cleaning spills, and keep floor and guest facing areas clear of debris.
- Follow sanitation procedures required by health regulatory agencies in both public areas and back of house.
- Comply with all company issued steps of service. Follow all corporate policies, safety and security procedures, and brand SOPs. Promptly report accidents, facility issues, or unsafe conditions to management.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required
Experience
- Experience in restaurant operations preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Effective communication skills
- Demonstrated team player and self-starter
- Ability to deal with intoxicated guests in a positive and safety-minded manner
- Able to work during peak times, including evenings, weekends and holidays, to support business needs
Licenses / Certifications
- State Alcohol Education Card required upon hire
- State Food Handler Safety Card required upon hire
Physical Requirements
Speak, hear, and use non-verbal cues to communicate. Stand and walk for extended periods, including on uneven surfaces and while carrying items. Walk up and down stairs while navigating the venue. Regularly lift and carry up to and over 50 lbs., and frequently sit, kneel, bend, and reach to move goods. Continually use gross motor skills with frequent use of bi-manual dexterity and fine motor skills to handle wet or fragile items.
Working Conditions
Restaurant/bar/live music environments, subject to both kitchen and customer areas, with large crowds and elevated noise levels.
