Southern Ionics is hiring an Accounting Assistant at our West Point, Mississippi corporate offices. This is a great opportunity for an accounting professional looking for hands-on experience with monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting activities in an established company, with strong potential for advancement.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Perform monthly, quarterly and annual accounting activities.
- Maintain supplier table in ERP system.
- Provide credit information and complete applications for suppliers.
- Review and approval of expense reports.
- Perform account analysis and reconciliation, including bank statements and customer/supplier transaction analysis.
- Assist with accounting audits.
- Prepare reports as assigned.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support accounting group by fulfilling additional responsibilities as assigned.
- Make recommendations to management for problem resolution.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Business.
- Accounting experience preferred.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
COMPENSATION:
Compensation will be determined based on the individual candidate's qualifications. The role is eligible for Southern Ionics' annual performance bonus and wage adjustment program.
