Job Summary
The Social Event Coordinator is responsible to develop and promote a variety of activities that include internal and external opportunities for socialization, across the religious and ethnic backgrounds of the residents of the Angelus community.
Tasks
- Develops, implements, and coordinates resident-centered social events, including community intergenerational programs.
- Coordinates volunteer programs, beauty shop, resident shopping, and external social events.
- Controls costs and manages the activities program budget.
- Manages the procurement, care, and maintenance of all event supplies and equipment.
- Promotes positive public relations through contacting media sources regarding special events and generating sympathy, holiday, and thank-you communications.
- Assists with the development of the marketing plan for their residence, which is created by the Community Relations Director.
- Assists in serving during mealtime
- Assists in escorting residents on field trips and external social functions.
- Communicates the details of special events planned with Executive Director, Community Relations Director, and other staff as directed
- Maintains flexibility in their schedule in order to plan events during days and evenings for residents.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
- Must possess a high degree of interpersonal relations skills and the capability of relating to a variety of people and personalities. Considerable initiative, judgment, and leadership skills are highly values.
- Must possess a high level of flexibility of working schedules, and a tolerance to adjust to changes in work load, assignments, hours, and days.
- Must have at least 1 year of Activity Director/Social Event Coordinator experience
