Job Title: Client Service Representative (CSC)
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
As a Client Service Representative at Bliss Animal Hospital, you play a vital role in creating a positive and welcoming experience for our clients and their pets. Your responsibilities include:
- Customer Service: Greet visitors with warmth and professionalism, answer telephones promptly, and guide clients and their pets to examination rooms.
- Appointment Management: Efficiently schedule and confirm appointments, ensuring a smooth flow of clients throughout the day.
- Communication: Initiate outbound calls for follow-ups and reach out to prospective clients to provide information about our services and offerings.
- Fee Presentation: Present and explain fees for services, medications, and treatments, and process payments accurately and efficiently.
- Product and Service Recommendations: Offer informed recommendations to clients for products and services, including prescriptions, based on their pets' needs.
- Client Education: Answer clients' questions about our products and services, providing education on general animal husbandry and non-medical pet care, such as heartworm prevention, housebreaking, and flea & tick control.
- Record Keeping: Update and maintain accurate records of patients, ensuring all necessary details are logged in the system
- Additional Tasks (cross training): Undertake assigned duties, including providing backup support of the medical team on patient care.
- Ensure client-facing areas: including reception, exam rooms, and restrooms, are kept clean, organized, and fully stocked with necessary supplies such as paper towels, soap, and other essentials.
Required Qualifications:
To succeed in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:
- Prior face-to-face customer service experience in a veterinary setting.
- Compassion for pets and people, along with an understanding of others' reactions and emotions.
- Proven decision-making skills, enabling you to choose the most appropriate course of action.
- The ability to integrate new information into problem-solving, staying current with our evolving practices.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and handle potential hazards associated with pets, including allergies, contagious diseases, noises, odors, bites, scratches, and animal waste.
- Ability to work on a computer for extended periods of time.
- Ability to be comfortable around animals, including dogs and cats.
- Strong mental and language skills, including reasoning, mathematics, reading, writing, and proficiency in the English language.
- Ability to work in a moderately noisy environment.
- Good hand-eye coordination and arm-hand-finger dexterity, as well as the ability to use a keyboard and operate equipment.
- Ability to work safely with animals that may bite or scratch, and with anesthesia, radiation, biological hazards, and medication.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Veterinary clinic experience (1-3 years) and familiarity with medical terminology
The following qualifications would be a plus:
- Spanish-speaking proficiency
- Experience with EzyVet Practice Management Software
Compensation: Hourly wage ranging between $20 and $22, based on experience and other relevant coursework or certifications.
