The Go-Kart Team Activity Sponsor is responsible for organizing, supervising, and promoting the school's go-kart program. The sponsor will provide leadership and guidance to students participating in the design, construction, maintenance, and competition of go-karts while fostering teamwork, problem-solving, engineering, and leadership skills. The sponsor will oversee team activities, practices, competitions, and related events in accordance with school and district policies.

Organize, supervise, and coordinate all aspects of the school's go-kart team program.

Recruit and encourage student participation in team activities.

Plan and conduct regular meetings, work sessions, and instructional activities.

Guide students in the design, construction, maintenance, and safe operation of go-karts.

Promote hands-on learning in engineering, mechanics, technology, and teamwork.

Prepare students for competitions, exhibitions, and related events.

Coordinate event registration, transportation requests, equipment needs, and event logistics.

Supervise students during meetings, build sessions, practices, competitions, and other team-related activities.

Ensure compliance with all school policies, competition rules, and safety standards.

Maintain communication with students, parents, school staff, and administration regarding schedules, expectations, and events.

Oversee the care, storage, and inventory of tools, equipment, materials, and team resources.

Manage program resources and budget allocations as assigned.

Promote positive citizenship, leadership, teamwork, and academic achievement among participants.

Complete all required reports, forms, and documentation in a timely manner.

Perform other duties as assigned by the Building Principal.

Valid Indiana teaching license preferred but not required unless otherwise specified by district policy.

Experience in engineering, automotive technology, mechanics, STEM education, or related fields preferred.

Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.

Knowledge of basic shop safety procedures and equipment operation.

Ability to motivate, mentor, and supervise students in a hands-on learning environment.

Ability to work collaboratively with students, parents, staff, and community partners.

Ability to supervise students in classroom, workshop, and competition settings.

Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift materials and equipment as needed.

Ability to lift and move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.

Ability to travel with students to competitions and events as required.
