The role of the Maintenance and Automation Supervisor is to be responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems and equipment used in order fuflillment. This role ensures maximum equipment uptime, supports continuous improvement efforts, develops and executes training, supervises maintenance staff, and upholds plant safety, quality, and productivity standards.
Primary responsibilities include assisting with defect reduction activities, providing maintenance staff support and training, implementing improvement projects, and conducting root cause/countermeasure activities. This position is categorized as compliance critical and, as such, requires and is assigned specific responsibility for ensuring compliance with all company requirements.
LOCATION & COMMITMENTS:
Full-time role based at our Liberty Fulfillment Center, Monday - Friday (40 hours per week)
Overtime may be required to ensure all shipping deadlines are met
Weekend work is rare but can occasionally be necessary
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on machinery and support equipment to minimize downtime and maximize equipment reliability
Provide maintenance support for all production floor automation and controls equipment.
Diagnose and resolve electrical and controls issues, including wiring, motors, conveyors, sensors, PLCs, relays, drives, and control systems (Robotics strongly recommended), as well as be able to replace or repair parts, test, and make adjustments.
Maintain and repair pneumatic systems, including regulators and compressors, to ensure optimal performance.
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, technical manuals, and diagrams to guide repairs.
Assist with equipment installations, upgrades, and relocations.
Work with vendors on ordering replacement parts for needed repairs
Drive continuous improvement by recommending upgrades, modifications, or process improvements to extend asset life and reduce unplanned downtime
Monitor and analyze equipment performance data to identify trends, failure patterns, and improvement opportunities
Review completed work orders to identify opportunities to improve job plans
Document all maintenance work and downtime in CMMS or maintenance logs.
Maintain and update software and PLC files.
Monitor and mentor maintenance staff to complete duties assigned to them
Create scheduled maintenance plans for all equipment
Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and company policies.
Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests during production.
Support root cause analysis and continuous improvement projects.
Collaborate with operators, engineers, and management to resolve recurring issues.
Perform additional warehouse duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Preferred 2-Year Technical Degree
Advanced Knowledge/experience of PLC/HMI (Keyence, Allen Bradley, Etc.)
Advanced Knowledge/experience with robotics (Fanuc, Yamaha. Etc.)
Advanced Knowledge/experience vision systems (Cognex, Keyence, Etc.)
5+ years of experience in warehousing or manufacturing maintenance
Dependable, punctual, and a strong team player
Requirements:
Have 5+ years of electrical and mechanical experience in production/manufacturing
Strong and proven ability to lead and give directions for troubleshooting and getting to the root cause of equipment failure.
Familiarity with PLCs, VFDs, and industrial automation systems preferred.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Excellent communication skills
