Duties
- Prepare and process a variety of meats and other perishable products following food safety and sanitation standards
- Operate meat processing equipment
- Package products efficiently while maintaining visual appeal and adherence to food safety protocols
- Assist customers with product selection, answer questions about cuts and preparation methods, and provide excellent customer service
- Maintain cleanliness by sanitizing workstations, tools, and equipment regularly in accordance with food safety sanitizing procedures
- Conduct quality control through visual inspection for freshness and defect detection to ensure only premium products reach customers
Skills
- Extensive experience in food production, preparation, and handling within the food industry or culinary settings
- Ability to operate meat processing machinery safely and efficiently
- Strong knowledge of food safety management practices and sanitizing procedures to prevent contamination
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate product details clearly and professionally
- Basic math skills for weighing, measuring ingredients, and calculating portions accurately
- Familiarity with retail store operations including packaging, visual merchandising, and perishable goods management
