Basic purpose or function: The Laundry Attendant is responsible for processing all laundry needs for the lodge, food and beverage department linens and uniforms for the casino restaurant and Conference Center operation.
Job Responsibilities:

Prioritize laundry needs by securing information from Shift Lead and/or Lead Supervisor personnel on business volume and demand in each area of responsibility.

Perform all operational needs and procedures of washer and dryer program cards and wash times for different linen, cloth and terry types, weights, size and soil.

Sort, pre-spot and soak problem stains.

Load and unload washers and dryers.

Maintain all machines in a clean condition by removing lint from traps, cleaning spills of chemicals from machines, floor and other surfaces.

Fold and or hang all laundry items.

Monitor laundry chemicals and machine operations to ensure proper inventory levels are kept and mechanical functions are correct.

Follow all hazardous chemical and blood borne pathogen rules and regulations.

Immediate report any mechanical malfunctions or unsafe conditions to management.

Identify and separate damaged and unusable laundry items to prevent them from returning to circulation.

Keep the laundry room clean and safe by ensuring the door is kept closed at all times when not occupied to prevent accidental access and contact to chemicals and machinery.

May be asked to assist in stripping rooms of linen and helping clean guestrooms during high occupancy periods.

May be required to perform other cleaning duties as business demand dictates.

Communicate on two way radio with hotel staff as needed.

Perform Laundry maintenance for the entire property when needed

Test eye wash station once a month.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Must be at least 18 years of age.

Must have High school diploma, HSED, GED, or equivalent; or in the process of receiving one.

Must be able to lift 75 pounds stand 100% of the time and bend and lift 75% of the time.

Required to work quickly and remain professional during busy, stressful times.

Ability to identify and correctly handle potentially unsafe conditions involving bodily fluids, soil and caustic substances.

Must possess a pleasant, helpful attitude towards guest and management.

Must have good communication skills to relate to guests, service specialists, shift leads and other Team Members needs

Must have a good sense of responsibility, and be self-motivated.

Must be able to work a flexible schedule

Ability to follow direction well.

Requires stamina to perform repetitive movement.
