Job Title: Sales & Marketing Specialist
The Sales & Marketing Specialist is responsible for being the visionary of sustained and increased sales via successful sales tactics, marketing efforts, public and client relations. This position reports directly to the Principal
Position Emphasis: sales, marketing, client retention and growth, public relations, and research.
Duties and Responsibilities
Marketing
- Actively Promote the company’s products/services addressing or predicting client’s objectives
- Be fully familiar with clients and leads needs/wants/budgets and timeline for obtaining services
- Develop creative email campaigns and templates and regularly send out as well as monitor progress, reach and effectiveness
(opens vs clicks, etc. and follow up to convert to sales)
- Develop organic savvy and creative social media campaigns and content and track results
- Develop social media and Google AdWords, tags and search engine optimization (SEO)
- Develop YouTube content and other promotional videos
- Develop relationships with media personnel, personalities and other sources of advertisers, influencers, bloggers, etc.
- Manage client marketing and monitor updates
- Work closely with vendors that provide marketing services for company
- Plan and coordinate promotional events
- Develop electronic and print marketing materials
- Develop strategic Funnel marketing systems
- Regularly update brochures, website content and other marketing materials
- Collect digital content for online and print marketing materials (photos, videos, etc.)
- Develop creative ideas to reach audience via social media (giveaways, challenges, etc.)
Sales
- Understand sales objectives established by the Principal
- Regularly meet or exceed sales quotas across products and service lines
- Develop and implement field sales action plans
- Maintain sales volume, product mix, and selling prices by keeping current with supply and demand, changing trends, economic indicators, and competitors
- Develop sales pitches and scripts that accurately and creatively describes products and services and encourage the client to purchase
- Arrange business meetings with prospective clients
- Conduct cold calls to existing clients and new leads to promote and sell products and services
- Cold calling
- Assess the strengths and weaknesses of sales and develop solutions for the Principal to review and approve for implementation
- Generate new business using existing and potential customer networks
- Monitor customer preferences to determine focus of sales efforts
- Maintain record of contacts, tract communication and regularly follow-up until leads turnover and becomes a client
Research
- Conduct searches on social media and other online channels to find individual entrepreneurs and small businesses to promote services and products too
- Identify emerging markets and market shifts while being fully aware of new products and competition status
- Research new sales initiatives, strategies, and programs to capture key demographics
- Research market trends, competitors’ products and prices and develop reports to present to the Principal for review
- Continually assess current business distribution channels, develop, and evaluate their performance to determine what outlets works best
General
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing networks, and participating in professional societies
- Manage a portfolio of accounts to achieve long-term success
- Report on status of internal and external client accounts and transactions
- Maintain data relative to client accounts and activities and document client interactions
- Attend conferences, workshops, and other vending events to sell products and services
- Other administrative duties as necessary
- Provide back-up support for other team members
Customer Service
- Develop positive relationship with existing and potential clients
- Act as a point of contact and handle customer individual needs, questions, or concerns about products and services
- Resolve conflicts and provide solution to customers in a timely manner
- Meet with customers to discuss their evolving needs and to assess the quality of our company’s relationship with them
- Resolve customer complaints regarding products and services sales
- Provide trustworthy feedback and after-sales support
- Build long term relationship with new and existing customers
Required Qualifications
- At least 2-years of college (business, marketing, or other related courses)
- Experience in sales, marketing, and/or public relations
- Fully understand company mission, vision, policies, and procedures
- People’s person with strong communications skills
- Ability to stand out in a room, take the lead on networking and approaching potential clients, partners etc.,
- Genuine interest in helping others succeed
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Commitment to providing quality service
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Savvy social media skills and understanding of how to effectively use them
- Ability to sell products and services
- Ability to follow-through to completion
- Strong organization skills
- Ability to work flexible schedules and some weekends
- Must have own transportation
- Ability to negotiate, persuade and influence
- Ability to build rapport and enjoy talking with people
- Software knowledge: Kajabi, Photoshop, Metricol, Many Chat and Canva
Preferred Qualifications
- Bi-Lingual (Spanish English)
- Experience with Illustrator and InDesign
- Bachelor’s Degree Preferred (business or marketing)
Position Hours
- 9:00am-5:00pm
- Some Saturdays
Salary & Benefits
This position is a hybrid, in office at the Suitland, MD office.
