New England Language School (NELS) is seeking a passionate, professional, and experienced part-time Russian language teacher for 6 to 15 hours per week depending on enrollment. Our students are adults and teenagers.
The classes meet in person or online.
Summer I session class schedules starting July 27, 2026:
- (In Person) Sundays 10am - 1pm
- (In Person) Saturdays 10am - 1pm
- (In Person) Saturdays 2pm - 5pm
- (Online) Monday 6pm - 9pm
- (Online) Wednesdays 6pm - 9pm
If you are available on different evenings, let us know. We can make changes to the schedules for future class sessions.
NELS is conveniently located across the street from the Quincy Center MBTA train station on the Red Line.
New England Language School is a local institution with a global reach through language education for adults and teenagers. Our mission is to provide the foreign language skills and cultural knowledge students need to communicate effectively and attain their personal, professional, or academic goals.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a field related to applied linguistics, education, or a related field
- Have at least 1 years of Russian language teaching experience
- Native fluency in Russian
- Be familiar with the cultures of Russian-speaking countries
- Be able to teach in person in Quincy, MA
- Be computer literate and competent in using the internet, Microsoft office, and Zoom
- Selected candidates will be asked to teach a demonstration lesson
Job description:
- Teach grammar, speaking skills, listening comprehension, writing skills, reading comprehension, pronunciation, and vocabulary to beginner to advanced level students using an assigned textbook
- Implement communicative activities to encourage active participation and language practice.
- Incorporate elements of Russian culture, history, and traditions into lessons to enhance cultural understanding.
- Give homework and constructive feedback
- Maintain up-to-date records (i.e. attendance, timesheets, progress notes)
