We are a growing general contractor specializing in large-scale reconstruction and repair projects. Our clients include HOA community associations and community management firms throughout California. We are seeking a driven, experienced Director of Business Development to expand our presence across Southern California.
Position Overview
The Director of Business Development is responsible for driving new business growth, cultivating long-term client relationships, strengthening existing partnerships, and increasing revenue. This individual will play a key role in identifying project opportunities, building a strong pipeline, and positioning the company as a trusted partner in the market.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute a strategic business development plan for the Southern California region
- Build and maintain relationships with key decision-makers in community management companies and HOAs, including community managers, HOA board members and industry partners
- Identify and pursue new project opportunities, securing Request for Proposals (RFPs)
- Conduct community management office visits, presentations, lunch-and-learns, and site walks
- Represent the company at industry events (CACM, CAI, ECHO, etc.), networking functions, and client meetings
- Manage and track pipeline activity, opportunities, and sales performance using CRM tools (e.g. Salesforce), maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of including, but not limited to, opportunities, properties, contacts, campaigns
- Monitor and analyze sales performance, adjusting strategies to ensure targets are met.
- Collaborate with estimating team to improve win rates by supporting proposal development, sales presentations and project wins
- Collaborate with operations and project teams as needed to ensure successful project delivery and client satisfaction for future RFPs from returning clients
- Track and manage budget, expenses, ROI from events, and other business development investments to evaluate the effectiveness of investments to maximize ROI
- Maintain a deep understanding of market trends, competitor activity, and client needs
Qualifications
- 4+ years of business development, sales, or client relationship experience (construction, real estate, or property management backgrounds preferred)
- Proven track record of generating new business and meeting or exceeding revenue targets
- Strong network within Southern California real estate or community management sectors preferred
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently and drive results
- Experience with CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce) is a plus
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Construction Management, or related field preferred
Note: Experience in the HOA industry is not required; however, candidates must demonstrate the ability to quickly learn and operate within a specialized market.
Territory and Travel
- Southern California, with primary focus on Los Angeles and Orange County
- Regular driving to client meetings, job walks, and industry events required
- Remote role

Pay: $100,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
