Position Summary
Electrical Testing Solutions (ETS) is seeking an Entry-Level Electrical Technician to join our growing team. This position is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a career in electrical testing, commissioning, and power distribution systems.
The Electrical Technician will work alongside experienced NETA-certified technicians and engineers performing testing, inspection, maintenance, commissioning, and troubleshooting of electrical distribution and power equipment at commercial, industrial, healthcare, data center, utility, and government facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior technicians with electrical testing, inspection, maintenance, and commissioning activities.
- Perform visual and mechanical inspections of electrical equipment.
- Assist with testing of switchgear, switchboards, transformers, circuit breakers, protective devices, motor control centers, panelboards, ATSs, and other electrical distribution equipment.
- Assist with electrical measurements and testing using specialized test equipment.
- Follow test procedures, manufacturer requirements, and applicable industry standards.
- Assist with equipment setup, connections, and removal of test equipment.
- Accurately record test results, equipment information, and field observations.
- Assist with troubleshooting electrical equipment and identifying potential deficiencies.
- Maintain and properly handle company tools, test equipment, vehicles, and safety equipment.
- Follow all company safety procedures, OSHA requirements, and NFPA 70E safe work practices.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Communicate professionally with customers, project managers, engineers, and other technicians.
- Travel to customer job sites as required, including occasional overnight and extended travel.
- Perform other duties related to electrical testing and field service as assigned.
Qualifications
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic understanding of electrical concepts.
- Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.
- Ability to read and understand basic electrical drawings and schematics.
- Ability to use hand tools and basic electrical test equipment.
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
- Ability to work safely around energized and de-energized electrical equipment.
- Ability to work outdoors, in industrial environments, and in confined or physically demanding areas.
- Ability to lift equipment and materials and perform physical field-service work.
- Willingness to travel as required.
Preferred:
- Technical school, electrical program, or related education.
- Previous electrical, mechanical, construction, maintenance, or industrial experience.
- Experience with electrical testing equipment.
- OSHA or NFPA 70E training.
- Previous experience working with electrical distribution equipment.
- Military electrical or mechanical experience.

Work Environment
This is a field-service position requiring regular travel to customer facilities. Work may be performed in commercial buildings, industrial facilities, healthcare facilities, data centers, substations, and other electrical infrastructure environments. Technicians may work varying hours, including occasional nights, weekends, and scheduled shutdowns based on customer requirements.
Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
