Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Surgical Instrument Repair Technician to join our dynamic healthcare equipment maintenance team. Duties
- Perform detailed inspections, repairs, and refurbishments of surgical instruments, ensuring compliance with OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) specifications and biomedical regulatory standards.
- Utilize hand tools, test equipment, and calibration devices to diagnose issues with electro-mechanical components of surgical instruments and biomedical devices.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical diagrams, and technical manuals to troubleshoot complex equipment problems effectively.
- Conduct electrical diagnostics and troubleshooting on biomedical equipment, including electro-mechanical systems, to identify faults accurately.
- Maintain detailed records of repairs, calibrations, and maintenance activities using CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) software for tracking asset history and compliance documentation.
- Collaborate with field service teams to provide on-site repairs and technical support for hospital facilities or healthcare providers.
- Ensure all repair activities adhere to ISO standards, biomedical regulations, and safety protocols to guarantee the highest quality standards are met consistently.
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge combined with expertise in electrical diagnostics and troubleshooting of biomedical equipment.
- Proficiency in reading electrical schematics, technical diagrams, and schematics related to electro-mechanical components.
- Experience with OEM equipment repair procedures, calibration techniques, and test equipment operation specific to biomedical devices.
- Familiarity with DME (Durable Medical Equipment) standards and biomedical regulatory compliance requirements.
- Ability to perform advanced electronics troubleshooting for complex biomedical systems within healthcare environments.
- Excellent customer service skills with a focus on clear communication and technical support for clinical staff or end-users.
- Hands-on experience with hand tools, computer hardware interfacing, and maintenance of medical electronics in field service settings.
