Hammond Farms Landscape Supply is an established, five location bulk materials sales and delivery company located in the Lansing, MI area. Primary duties of this position are assessing customers' materials needs over the phone and at the front counter, then assisting them to purchase and obtain products like mulch, soil, sand, gravel, brick and block. You will also be trained to load materials into customer's vehicles with a front end loader or forklift.
Qualified applicants MUST:
1) Have an interest and capability to operate a front end loader and forklift. Experience is a plus.
2) Be able to interact pleasantly with the public and be willing to help people figure out what and how much product they will need.
3) Be able to work in what can be a fast paced and demanding seasonal business including 10 hour work days.
4) Be willing and able to work Saturdays.
5) Have some background in customer service.
While neither extensive sales experience, nor a specific education level are required, decent grammar and spelling are necessary. The position is ideal for someone with an outgoing personality and desire to work in a casual, yet professional environment.
Blue jeans or shorts, work shoes or boots and company shirt are the preferred attire. The compensation listed is for ENTRY LEVEL seasonal employment.
