Responsibilities
Assist in the preparation of construction sites by clearing debris, setting up scaffolding, and organizing materials to ensure smooth workflow.
Support carpenters, masons, electricians, and other tradespeople by carrying tools, supplies, and equipment to designated areas.
Interpret basic construction plans and technical drawings to understand project requirements and assist in layout tasks.
Operate power tools safely and efficiently, adhering to all safety regulations and OSHA standards.
Perform heavy lifting and manual handling of building materials such as lumber, drywall, bricks, and concrete components.
Follow strict safety procedures including the use of respiratory protection, climbing safety gear, and other personal protective equipment (PPE).
Maintain a clean and organized worksite by disposing of waste properly and ensuring all safety regulations are consistently followed.
Skills
Strong understanding of blueprint reading and interpreting technical drawings to support construction activities.
Mechanical knowledge related to tools, equipment, and basic building systems enhances efficiency on-site.
Comprehensive knowledge of construction workplace safety regulations and OSHA safety standards is essential for maintaining a safe environment.
Ability to perform manual handling tasks with proper technique to prevent injury during heavy lifting or repetitive motions.
Experience with power tools such as drills, saws, grinders, and other equipment used in residential building projects.
Familiarity with climbing ladders or scaffolding safely as required for various construction tasks.
Knowledge of respiratory protection protocols and other PPE usage to ensure health standards are met on-site.
