Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) in Interventional Radiology to join our multidisciplinary healthcare team. In this role, you will provide comprehensive patient care across the continuum of interventional radiology services, including outpatient consultations, inpatient management, procedural support, and post-procedure follow-up. Working collaboratively with interventional radiologists, nursing staff, and referring providers, you will play an integral role in delivering minimally invasive, image-guided therapies while ensuring exceptional patient safety and outcomes. Duties
- Perform comprehensive patient evaluations, including history, physical examinations, medication reconciliation, and risk assessments for patients undergoing interventional radiology procedures.
- Evaluate patients for appropriateness of image-guided interventions and develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with interventional radiologists.
- Obtain informed consent and educate patients and families regarding procedures, expected outcomes, potential risks, and post-procedure care.
- Assist with and perform image-guided procedures within the APP scope of practice, including vascular access, paracentesis, thoracentesis, biopsies, drain placements, and other minimally invasive interventions.
- Provide peri-procedural management, including ordering and interpreting laboratory studies, reviewing diagnostic imaging, managing anticoagulation, and coordinating pre-procedure optimization.
- Monitor patients before, during, and after procedures, recognizing and managing procedural complications and collaborating with physicians during emergencies.
- Provide follow-up care, including post-procedure evaluations, wound care, drain management, medication management, and coordination of outpatient follow-up.
- Collaborate with referring physicians, hospital services, and multidisciplinary care teams to coordinate patient care and facilitate timely consultations and interventions.
- Document patient encounters, procedures, and treatment plans accurately within the electronic health record while maintaining compliance with regulatory and institutional standards.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, clinical research, protocol development, and departmental education activities to enhance patient outcomes and operational efficiency.
- Support inpatient consult services and triage urgent or emergent interventional radiology requests in collaboration with the attending physicians.
Qualifications & Experience
- Current certification and licensure as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) with eligibility for state licensure and credentialing.
- Prior experience in Interventional Radiology, Vascular Surgery, Surgery, Critical Care, Emergency Medicine, Hospital Medicine, or a related procedural specialty preferred.
- Strong knowledge of minimally invasive image-guided procedures, vascular access techniques, and peri-procedural patient management.
- Experience interpreting laboratory results, diagnostic imaging, and managing anticoagulation and procedural risk factors.
- Proficiency with electronic medical record systems such as Epic or Cerner.
- Demonstrated ability to recognize and manage procedural complications and medical emergencies while collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Excellent clinical judgment, organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize multiple patient care responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care.
- Experience participating in quality improvement initiatives, clinical research, or academic medicine is preferred.

Pay: $120,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
