Sales Engineer – Aluminum Extrusions & Manufacturing
General Extrusions International (GEI) is a growing aluminum extrusion manufacturer located in Boardman, Ohio. We partner with customers across multiple industries to develop innovative aluminum solutions, from concept through production.
We are seeking a Sales Engineer who enjoys working directly with customers, solving manufacturing challenges, and helping bring new products to market. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who wants a highly visible role that combines technical expertise, customer interaction, quoting, and project management.
Pay: $80,695 - $97,182 per year (based on experience)
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

What You'll Do
As a Sales Engineer, you will serve as a critical link between our customers, sales team, engineering group, and manufacturing operations.
Responsibilities include:
- Develop and review CAD drawings and customer part designs
- Support quoting activities for new extrusion, machining, and fabrication opportunities
- Coordinate new product launches from concept through production
- Create and maintain manufacturing routings and engineering documentation
- Provide technical support to customers and internal teams
- Evaluate customer requirements and recommend manufacturable solutions
- Collaborate with production, quality, and maintenance teams to ensure successful project execution
- Assist with process improvement initiatives and cost-reduction opportunities
- Support business growth through strong customer relationships and technical expertise
What We're Looking ForRequired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field
- 5+ years of manufacturing engineering, applications engineering, sales engineering, or related experience
- Proficiency with CAD software and SolidWorks
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in aluminum extrusion manufacturing
- Experience with machining and fabrication processes
- CNC programming experience
- Customer-facing engineering or technical sales experience
- ERP system experience
