Job Requirements
Equipment Distribution and Inventory Management

Coordinate and oversee the procurement, maintenance, repair, storage, and distribution of clinical equipment, including pumps, beds, infusion devices, wheelchairs, and other medical equipment.

Collaborate with Biomedical Engineering Technicians regarding equipment maintenance and repair activities.

Coordinate with clinical departments for the exchange, retrieval, and distribution of equipment requiring service or preventive maintenance.

Rotate equipment for scheduled preventive maintenance and routine inspections.
-
Ensure proper storage and organization of equipment when not in use.
-
Verify the accuracy of equipment and supplies received by comparing shipments to receiving documentation.

Perform computer data entry and maintain accurate departmental records and inventory documentation.
-
Serve as a liaison between clinical and non-clinical departments regarding equipment distribution services.
-
Communicate and coordinate effectively with external vendors as needed.
-
Maintain appropriate inventory levels of equipment parts and supplies required for maintenance and repairs.

Assist with the development and maintenance of capital equipment inventories.
-
Generate equipment utilization and service reports for leadership review.

Identify opportunities for cost containment and service improvements.
Staff Supervision and Leadership

Supervise Equipment Distribution Technicians and other assigned departmental staff.
-
Monitor workflow, prioritize customer needs, and assign daily shift responsibilities accordingly.

Mentor, train, and educate staff on departmental procedures, equipment handling, and maintenance practices.
-
Prepare staff schedules and approve vacation and time-off requests.
-
Ensure staff adherence to departmental and organizational policies, procedures, and safety standards.
Equipment Maintenance and Repair
-
Perform routine preventive maintenance and minor repairs on medical and office equipment in accordance with departmental procedures.

Safely operate hand and power tools, including electric drills and saws.
-
Repair and maintain equipment such as beds, stretchers, wheelchairs, oxygen and suction regulators, suction equipment, thermometers, electronic scales, and related devices.

Maintain working knowledge of all equipment maintenance procedures and departmental supplies.
Cleaning, Disinfection, and Infection Control
-
Inspect, assemble, clean, disinfect, and prepare equipment for storage and redistribution in accordance with infection prevention and safety standards.

Retrieve contaminated equipment from patient care areas using proper containment and handling procedures.

Clean and restock specialty carts and equipment, including crash carts and intubation boxes.
-
Follow established infection control procedures to minimize cross-contamination risks.

Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and comply with all chemical safety requirements.

Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
Customer Service and Compliance

Respond promptly to customer service requests and assist departments with locating and obtaining equipment.

Communicate damaged, missing, or malfunctioning equipment concerns to leadership.
-
Ensure compliance with Medical Center policies, safety regulations, infection control standards, and accreditation requirements.
Work Experience
Education and Experience
-
High School Diploma or GED required.
-
Associate Degree in Business or a related field preferred.
-
Minimum of three (3) years of experience in an Equipment Distribution or related healthcare support environment required.

Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory experience required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
-
Basic mathematical skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, for inventory management purposes.

Ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions accurately and efficiently.
-
Strong organizational skills with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and operational needs.

Working knowledge of general equipment maintenance and repair procedures.

Ability to safely operate hand and power tools.
-
Effective verbal and written communication skills to interact with hospital personnel, leadership, vendors, and technical staff.

Ability to maintain accurate maintenance and repair documentation.

Pay Range: $33.36 - $46.70
