The Role
We're looking for a hands-on Mechanical Engineer to help develop the next generation of our PCR-based diagnostic platform. You'll work closely with scientists, electrical engineers, software engineers, and external partners to take products from concept through prototyping, optimization, manufacturing transfer, and commercialization.
What You'll Do
- Architect and develop state of the art instrumentation for a PCR based diagnostic systems, including mechanisms, housings, component and electrical location.
- Procure, build, and test prototypes and subsystems
- Perform tolerance analysis and simulation to validate designs
- Document and transfer designs to manufacturing
- Collaborate on fluidic, optical, and airflow subsystem integration as part of the instrument development
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering (or similar).
- 3–5+ years of hands-on mechanical design experience, ideally in instrument or hardware development
- Strong hands-on mechanical design experience, including mechanisms and electromechanical systems.
- Strong SolidWorks proficiency
- Familiarity with fluidics, optics, or pneumatic systems is a strong plus
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment where you'll wear multiple hats
- Exposure to biology, chemistry, or biotech environments is a plus
Pay: $85,000.00 - $135,000.00 per year
