American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a PCU position on an Acute Leukemia and Hematology unit, requiring a minimum of 2 years of nursing experience and active OH or compact RN license.

Located in a PCU setting on an Acute Leukemia and Hematology unit (15E)

Primarily cares for newly diagnosed acute leukemia patients; adult and geriatric population
-
Goal staffing ratio of 1:4, with potential for 1:5 based on unit needs

Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:30); rotating D/N contracts may include days, nights, or a combination based on department needs
-
Shift assignments are reviewed every 4-week scheduling period

No set or blocked scheduling; self-scheduling requests are accepted before schedule finalization

Weekends required on a variable basis based on unit needs

Chemo certification is NOT required

Charting performed in Epic
-
Active OH or compact RN license required
-
Required certifications: BLS and ACLS

Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required

Required skills: Med/Surg Telemetry, telemetry monitoring, interpretation of dysrhythmias, use of Rapid Response Teams, feeding tube care and management, IV therapy and phlebotomy, blood product administration, central line blood draw, peripheral line care and management, PICC line management, and IV starts

2 professional references required: at least 1 must be from a Manager, Director, or formal leadership role (e.g., Supervisor); a Charge RN is acceptable as the second reference; co-worker references are not accepted

Preferred certifications include ONS Chemo Certification and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)

Strong emphasis on infection prevention protocols and patient fall prevention

Orientation consists of Mon–Fri dayshift during the first week, followed by 36 hours of on-unit orientation with a preceptor in the second week

First-time travelers will be considered and screened for client review
-
Former employees are eligible for a travel assignment after a 6-month separation from the facility
-
RTO must be submitted with your profile and built into the contract; RTO is limited to 7 days or fewer
-
Local candidates are accepted at the same rate as travelers
-
Ohio state fingerprinting is required and must be completed promptly after signing; candidates outside Ohio will need to travel to an in-state fingerprinting location or receive a mailed fingerprinting packet to be completed urgently upon receipt
