Step into a specialized role supporting students as a full-time Behavior Intervention Specialist for the 2025-2026 school year. This contract opportunity provides the chance to collaborate with another BIS professional and a Special Education Administrator in a dynamic educational environment. Applicants must be a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) or a Special Education Teacher holding a Tier 3 or 4 license; Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) are not eligible. Expect a varied caseload, with responsibilities across 3-4 school sites (site assignments are based on district needs).
Key Qualifications:
- BCBA Certification or valid Tier 3 or 4 Special Education Teaching License
- Experience conducting functional behavior assessments and implementing positive interventions
- Strong background in working with students with behavioral challenges, preferably in a school setting
- Excellent consultative, communication, and collaborative team skills
- Ability to provide training to staff on behavioral strategies
- Adaptable mindset and calm demeanor, particularly in crisis situations
Essential Responsibilities:
- Consult with educational teams and help design individualized programming for students
- Implement and monitor positive behavior interventions and supports to foster student growth
- Support individualized education plan (IEP) development and implementation
- Conduct functional behavioral assessments, and analyze data to inform decision-making
- Model and train staff in de-escalation and positive reinforcement strategies
- Maintain safe learning environments and comply with all district and regulatory requirements
- Uphold School Board policies and participate in ongoing professional development
