The Instrument Fitter is responsible for installing, assembling, and supporting the installation of instrumentation systems used in industrial and mission-critical facilities. This position works closely with Instrument Technicians and Electricians to install tubing, supports, valves, manifolds, transmitters, analyzers, and related instrumentation components while ensuring all work is performed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications, applicable codes, and company quality standards.

Install instrument tubing (stainless steel and copper), fittings, and supports.

Measure, cut, bend, and install tubing using proper tools and techniques.

Install instrument stands, brackets, supports, and miscellaneous hardware.

Mount field instruments including transmitters, switches, gauges, analyzers, and control valves.

Install manifolds, tubing assemblies, impulse lines, and pneumatic components.

Read and interpret P&IDs, instrument loop drawings, isometric drawings, hookup details, and construction drawings.

Perform layout work to ensure proper routing and support of tubing systems.

Assist Instrument Technicians with instrument installation and commissioning activities.

Verify installations meet project specifications, quality requirements, and manufacturer recommendations.

Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas.

Identify and report quality issues, safety concerns, and material shortages.

Participate in Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), toolbox talks, and pre-task planning meetings.

Follow all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and client-specific requirements.

Perform other duties as assigned.

High school diploma or GED preferred.
-
Minimum 2 years of industrial instrument fitting experience preferred.

Experience working in industrial facilities, manufacturing plants, power generation, oil & gas, or mission-critical facilities.

Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and P&IDs.

Knowledge of instrumentation tubing installation practices.
-
Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, tubing benders, and measuring equipment.

Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

NCCER Instrument Fitter or equivalent training.

Current driver's license with acceptable driving record.

Experience with stainless steel tubing fabrication.

Experience installing pneumatic and hydraulic instrumentation systems.

Frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

Ability to climb ladders, scaffolding, and structural steel.

Work in confined spaces and at elevated heights when required.

Stand, bend, kneel, crawl, and work in physically demanding environments for extended periods.
