Valor is starting an early‑stage wholesale division of an established retail mortgage company. We are launching with a primary focus on Non‑QM products and rapidly expanding into full agency channels (FHA, VA, FNMA, FHLMC), plus Jumbo, HELOCs, second liens, and other portfolio products. This is a hands‑on, high‑impact leadership role with clear growth potential as the wholesale platform scales.
Job Summary
The Business Development Specialist role is responsible for front-end account development and appointment setting with mortgage broker companies and individual loan officers. This role focuses on identifying, researching, contacting, and qualifying prospects to set meetings for Client Loan Advisors and Business Leaders. The BDS does not close loans or manage long-term accounts.
Primary Objectives
- Set 3–5 qualified meetings per day
- Identify and engage Non-QM-focused mortgage brokers and loan officers
- Support broker approvals and early-stage relationship development
- Re-engage approved but inactive broker relationships
Core Responsibilities
New Account Acquisition
- Research and identify target mortgage broker companies and loan officers
- Conduct outbound calls, emails, LinkedIn messages, and SMS outreach
- Qualify prospects based on predefined criteria
- Schedule and confirm meetings for Account Executives and Business Leaders
Existing Account Re-Engagement
- Follow up with approved brokers & loan officers who are not actively engaging
- Maintain accurate CRM records and activity logs
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Meetings booked
- Daily call & outreach activity volume
- Meeting show rate
- Quality of handoff to Account Executives
- Re-engagement success
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Experience in outbound sales, appointment setting, or business development
- Strong English communication skills – Verbal & written
- Comfort working with U.S.-based clients
- High attention to detail and follow-up discipline
- Mortgage, lending, real estate, or financial services experience
- CRM and sales engagement tools experience
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $36,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
