Job Title: Intervention Specialist
Reports to: Center Director or Special Education Coordinator
Job Summary:
We're seeking a passionate and experienced Intervention Specialist to join our team at an early childhood education center specializing in autism support. The Intervention Specialist will work closely with our transdisciplinary team including our BCBA to design and implement individualized intervention plans for young children with autism, promoting their social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assessments and Intervention Planning:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify children's developmental needs and strengths.
- Develop and implement tailored intervention plans, incorporating evidence-based strategies.
- Collaboration and Teamwork:
- Work closely with families, educators, and therapists to ensure comprehensive support for each child.
- Participate in team meetings to discuss student progress, share insights, and strategize interventions.
- Direct Support and Coaching:
- Provide direct support and coaching to children, utilizing evidence-based practices to enhance learning outcomes.
- Offer training and resources to families and staff, empowering them to support children's development.
- Documentation and Progress Monitoring:
- Maintain accurate records of children's progress and outcomes.
- Use data-driven approaches to inform instruction and make adjustments to intervention plans.
Requirements:
- Education and Certification:
- Master's degree in Special Education, Early Childhood Education, or a related field.
- Valid state certification in Special Education or Early Childhood Special Education.
- Experience:
- Minimum 2-5 years of experience working with young children with autism or developmental delays.
- Skills and Qualities:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong knowledge of child development principles, special education laws, and best practices in autism support.
- Ability to work collaboratively with families and our team and be willing and open to new approaches that help foster the child's growth.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) or other evidence-based interventions for autism.
- Certification in Early Childhood Special Education
Job Types: Part-time, Contract
Pay: $45.00 - $50.00 per hour
