Responsibilities
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary.
- Monitor patients’ vital signs, observe changes in condition, and report findings accurately to healthcare professionals to ensure optimal care.
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with feeding when required, ensuring safety during meal times.
- Administer medications following care plans and HIPAA regulations to maintain compliance and confidentiality.
- Perform light housekeeping tasks including cleaning, laundry, and organizing to create a safe and comfortable environment.
- Support clients during outings or community activities to promote social engagement and independence.
- Follow detailed care plans developed by healthcare providers, ensuring all patient needs are met with compassion and professionalism.
Experience
- Prior experience in home health care or assisted living environments is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of patient observation techniques and vital signs monitoring.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, autism spectrum disorders, or in hospice care is advantageous.
- Familiarity with medical equipment such as Hoyer lifts or other mobility aids is a plus.
- Previous work in group homes or nursing facilities provides valuable insight into long-term care practices.
