We will also consider a candidate who wants to work or part-time (20-32 hrs./wk.). On-call coverage is not required. Start/end times are flexible based on facility needs, but core hours are typically between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. No nights, weekends, or holidays. The selected psychiatrist will meet with 12-16 patients per 8-hour shift. The assignment may last at least 6 months if the psychiatrist chosen is a good fit. The assignment could lead to permanent hire.

Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations to assess patients’ mental health status and develop tailored treatment strategies.
- Prescribe and manage medications, monitor their effectiveness, and adjust treatments as necessary to optimize patient outcomes.
- Provide psychotherapy and counseling sessions to support patients’ emotional well-being and recovery goals.
- Collaborate with psychologists, social workers, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate holistic care plans.
- Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and coping mechanisms.
- Maintain accurate, detailed documentation of patient interactions, treatment plans, and progress notes in accordance with regulatory standards.
- Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and ongoing professional development activities to stay current with best practices in psychiatry.
Experience
- Medical degree (MD or DO) with board certification or eligibility in Psychiatry.
- Valid medical license to practice psychiatry within the relevant jurisdiction.
- Proven experience in diagnosing and treating a wide range of mental health disorders such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and others.
- Strong knowledge of psychotropic medications, therapeutic techniques, and evidence-based practices.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build trustful relationships with diverse patient populations.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced environment.
