POSITION TITLE: BAKER - PART TIME
REPORTS TO: Kitchen Manager
POSITION SUMMARY
Our bakers are required to prepare large quantities of baked goods to be served at weddings, conventions, meetings, and other large events or gatherings. Our bakery prepares a variety of breads, cakes, pastries, pies, cookies, and other baked goods of different styles in a timely manner for our large-scale off-site events.
KEY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

Measuring and combining ingredients and using mixers, blenders, heat sources, and other typical commercial kitchen equipment

Prepare bakery items per customer specifications using appropriate proper bakery equipment for each specific task

Keeping records related to inventory, deliveries, production levels and deadlines

Cleaning and restocking workstations during and at end of shift

Ensuring equipment is sanitized and prepared for next scheduled shift

Help maintain a safe and sanitary kitchen

Adhere to recipes

Ensure complete compliance with all food, safety and physical standards and policies

Attend and work events offsite (as needed)

Flexibility to work during evenings and weekends

Scheduling is variable and event based

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Proven experience in the culinary field
-
Experience in high-volume, quality-oriented catering, restaurant or banquet experience is preferred

Excellent volume cooking and presentation skills

Skilled at preparing ingredients, knife skills, and adhering to recipe standards

Ability to work and communicate with a variety of people of different skill levels and varied backgrounds

Excellent communication skills (written and oral) and good listening skills
-
Thoroughness, attention to detail, and excellent organizational skills

Ability to effectively handle many tasks at once in a fast-paced work environment

Good decision-making and ability to proactively make changes as needed

Ability to understand and adhere to required cleaning and sanitation standards
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

2 years of full-service kitchen cooking or baking experience
- Current Food Handler Certification
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to stand for long periods of time, reach, bend, and stoop

Ability to frequently lift up to 50 pounds

Job Type: Part-time. Scheduling is event based.
