Terminal Operations Manager
Salary: $80,000–$90,000 per year

We are looking for an experienced Terminal Operations Manager to oversee day-to-day transportation and terminal activities. This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who can balance people management, customer service, safety, equipment readiness, and business performance.
The right candidate is a confident decision-maker who enjoys working in a fast-moving transportation environment and can keep operations organized while responding to changing priorities.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
- Direct daily terminal activities to ensure transportation and delivery operations remain on schedule.
- Monitor operational performance, productivity, service levels, and key performance indicators.
- Review reports and operating data to identify issues, trends, and opportunities for improvement.
- Work with leadership and dispatch teams to coordinate freight movement and resolve service challenges.
- Manage fleet and equipment readiness, including inspections, maintenance coordination, and compliance requirements.
- Recruit, train, coach, and hold employees accountable to performance and company expectations.
- Support staffing decisions and participate in driver interviews and pre-employment road evaluations.
- Review and approve weekly employee time records.
- Promote a strong safety culture and ensure operations follow applicable DOT, FMCSA, OSHA, and company requirements.
- Look for practical ways to improve efficiency, control operating costs, and enhance customer service.
- Prepare and communicate operational updates and performance information to leadership.
- Step in and assist with operational priorities when needed.
Schedule & Travel
- Initial training: Night-shift training beginning at 5:00 PM for approximately three weeks.
- Flexibility to work in a transportation environment where priorities may change throughout the day.
- Travel: Up to 20% may be required.
What We’re Looking For
- At least 6 years of management experience, preferably within transportation, trucking, distribution, or warehouse operations.
- Experience leading teams and managing day-to-day operational performance.
- Strong understanding of transportation or logistics processes.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to analyze information, identify problems, and make sound business decisions.
- Comfortable working in a high-volume environment with competing priorities.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Associate or bachelor's degree in business, logistics, transportation, or a related discipline is preferred.
- Class A CDL Required
- Clean driving history preferred.
- Must be able to successfully complete required background screening, MVR review, DOT physical, and drug screening.
- Ability to perform physical activities associated with terminal operations, including standing, walking, climbing, and lifting up to 75 pounds.
