Overview
Join our team as a Part-time Dispatcher, where your energy and communication skills will keep our transportation services running smoothly and efficiently. In this role, you will coordinate daily dispatch operations, manage routing and scheduling, and provide safe, reliable transportation for our clients.
This position is for a Dispatcher to work some opening shifts starting at 5:00 am and some closing shifts ending at 6:00 pm. Some full days 8:00 to 6:00 on Saturdays. Ideal person will have excellent phone customer service skills as well as be very comfortable on computers and have familiarity with Excel. EXCEL EXPERIENCE REQUIRED - DO NOT APPLY UNLESS YOU HAVE EXPERIENCE - WE WILL TEST.
Ideal person will be willing to be trained as a substitute driver.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and dispatch transportation services using transportation management system AND EXTENSIVE USE OF EXCEL FOR REPORTING.
- Communicate clearly with drivers, clients, and team members via multi-line phone systems, ensuring accurate information exchange and excellent phone etiquette.
- Monitor vehicle locations in real-time through GPS tracking to ensure timely pickups and deliveries while adjusting routes as needed for traffic or unforeseen delays.
- Maintain detailed records of dispatch activities, including data entry into systems and generating data for reports.
- Handle inquiries from clients or drivers professionally, providing clear directions or updates while demonstrating excellent communication skills.
- Train as a substitute driver and be able to handle all duties of paratransit curb to curb service.
Qualifications
- Required: Basic computer proficiency including experience working with Excel
- Required: Ability to being work at 5:00 am and on some Saturdays from 8:00-6:00
- Required: Initially willing to work flexible days and hours
- Required: Ability to pass drug screening, background check, basic physical exam.
- Preferred: experience with dispatch, logistics, or transportation management systems such as VIA or similar platforms.
- Preferred: experience with driving for passenger transportation
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to handle multi-line phone systems confidently and professionally.
- Proficiency in data entry.
- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Pay: From $16.00 per hour
