Overview
Forge ECI is seeking a Director of Regional Initiatives to lead the administration, compliance, and reporting of the East Central Indiana region’s READI (Regional Economic Acceleration and Development Initiative) grant portfolio. This role will serve as the primary point of contact for READI-funded projects and stakeholders, ensuring funds are deployed effectively, deadlines are met, and outcomes are tracked and communicated.
Beyond READI, this position will also serve as a broader regional initiatives and program manager, supporting additional grant programs, cross-sector partnerships, and regional economic projects as they arise. This is an ideal role for someone who thrives on structure and compliance work but also enjoys the flexibility of wearing multiple hats across a growing regional development agenda.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary administrator for the region’s READI grant award(s), including tracking milestones, deliverables, and disbursement schedules
- Manage project partner relationships, ensuring compliance with state and program requirements
- Prepare and submit required reports, reimbursement requests, and documentation to the IEDC
- Monitor project timelines and budgets across the READI-funded project portfolio
- Maintain accurate records (financial documentation, performance metrics, compliance files)
- Coordinate site visits, progress reviews, and check-ins with funded project leads
Experience:
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in public administration, urban planning, business, or related field (or equivalent professional experience)
- 3+ years of experience in grants management, program management, economic development, or a related field
- Strong organizational skills with demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience preparing reports for funders/boards
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office/Google Workspace; comfort learning grant management or project tracking software
- Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment with minimal supervision
Preferred
- Experience specifically with READI, state economic development grant programs, or similar public funding mechanisms
- Familiarity with regional and local economic development, community planning, or public-private partnership structures
- Experience with budget management and financial reporting/reconciliation
This position is funded through the region’s READI grant, with funding currently secured through December 31, 2028. While funding beyond that date is not guaranteed, Forge ECI is optimistic about the continued need for and potential continuation of this role beyond the current funding period.
