Documentation Engineer Tech (CAD/Manufacturing)
We are hiring a Documentation Engineer Tech to support a manufacturing team with CAD drawings, bill of materials, and product documentation. This is a full-time, day shift position working Monday through Thursday from 6:00 AM to 4:30PM, with overtime on Friday as needed.
Pay starts around $25/hour and may increase based on experience. This role is ideal for someone with CAD experience who enjoys working on product development, documentation, and improving manufacturing processes.
Requirements
- Experience with CAD software (AutoDesk, AutoCAD, or Inventor preferred)
- Familiarity with bill of materials (BOM) and engineering documentation
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and manage priorities
- Strong computer, communication, and documentation skills
- Commitment to maintaining organized workspaces and continuous improvement
Responsibilities
- Maintain and update bill of materials, including processing BOM changes and PCO requests
- Create, revise, and maintain CAD drawings including layouts, line drawings, and assembly drawings
- Document dimensions, fabrication methods, and storage locations for production drawings
- Develop and issue CAM files for CNC and plasma equipment
- Create part nesting layouts to improve material usage and efficiency
- Support prototype builds by tracking and documenting design changes before production release
- Assist with product certification in compliance with NMMA, ABYC, and USCG standards
- Maintain organized drawing files and assist with manufacturing reporting
- Complete additional projects as assigned by supervisors
