We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Front Desk / Medical Assistant (MA) to join our healthcare team. Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and efficiently manage check-in and check-out procedures using Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems
- Verify patient information, insurance details, and complete intake documentation accurately
- Assist with vital signs collection, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates
- Support clinical staff with procedures such as phlebotomy, medication administration, and basic life support when needed
- Maintain organized medical records, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and proper documentation of patient encounters
- Schedule appointments, follow-up visits, and coordinate referrals within the practice or hospital system
- Manage phone calls professionally, answer patient inquiries, and relay messages to healthcare providers promptly
Experience
- Prior experience working in a medical office setting or healthcare environment is highly preferred
- Knowledge of dermatology, hospital medicine, urgent care, geriatrics or trauma center experience is advantageous
- Familiarity with Electronic Health Records (EHR/EHR systems) and Medical Records management is essential
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR is required; additional certifications such as Phlebotomy or Medical Assisting are a plus
- Understanding of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, ICD coding, and pharmacology enhances your ability to support clinical workflows
- Experience with inpatient settings or Level I/II trauma centers adds valuable insight into complex patient care scenarios
- Strong communication skills and a passion for patient service are key to success in this role
