Job Summary
We are seeking dependable, hardworking Construction Grade Checker Laborer to join our team. This position will support field operations by reading construction plans, setting and checking grades, and accurately using measuring and grade-checking equipment.
The ideal candidate has strong attention to detail, understands basic construction practices, works well with a team, and is committed to maintaining a safe and productive jobsite. Candidates should be motivated, reliable, and willing to learn and grow within the company.
Responsibilities
- Follow all company operational procedures and safety policies at all times.

- Perform general labor, cleanup, and job site maintenance.

- Traffic control and flagging certification
- Skip Loader-1 proficiency and abide by company operations and safety policies
- Must be trained and signed off on skip loader safety procedures before operating or handling any component of the machine. Must be supervised at all times when working around a skip loader.
- Move and pick up material piles
- Skid Steer-1 proficiency and abide by company operations and safety policies
- Must be trained and signed off on skid steer safety procedures before operating or handling any component of the machine. Must be supervised at all times when working around a skid steer
- Skid steer sweeping
- Move and pick up material piles
- Proficient in vibratory plate, blowers, jack hammers, saws, etc.
- Read and understand site construction plans.
- Set and read grade stakes accurately.
- Check and maintain proper grades, elevations, and slopes.
- Laser levels
- Smart levels
- Engineering rules
- Tape measures
- Assist with layout, measurements, and grade verification in the field.
- Communicate measurements, elevations, and grade information to supervisors and crew members.
- Identify and communicate grade or elevation issues.
- Perform general construction labor duties as needed, including shoveling, digging, cleaning, material handling, and wheelbarrowing.

Qualifications
- Construction experience required.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull heavy materials throughout the workday.
- Ability to read basic construction plans.
- Ability to set and read grade stakes.
- Proficient with laser levels, smart levels, engineering rules, and tape measures.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn new equipment and skills.
- Ability to read a tape measure.
- Valid traffic control/flagging certification is preferred or willingness to obtain.
- Must own a smartphone and be proficient with Google Workspace (Google Suite) and the Got Safety app. Employees will be reimbursed for the business use of their personal device under the company's Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) policy.
