Job Description:
We are seeking an enthusiastic, friendly and service oriented front of house employee to join our team and contribute to our outstanding cafe experience. The successful candidate will be responsible for welcoming customers, taking orders and providing exceptional customer service, as our front of house cashier and server. Your passion for coffee/food, exceptional customer service skills, and attention to detail will be instrumental in making our customer’s daily coffee routine the highlight of their day.
Key Responsibilities:
- Customer Service: Provide a warm and friendly greeting to customers as they enter the café.
- Order Taking: Efficiently take customer orders for coffee, tea, pastries, sandwiches, and other menu items using our point-of-sale (POS) system. Ensure order accuracy and promptly relay orders to the kitchen.
- Cash Handling: Handle cash, credit card transactions, and digital payments accurately and securely, following established cash-handling procedures.
- Menu Knowledge: Familiarize yourself with our café's menu, including ingredients, pricing, and any daily specials. Educate customers about our offerings and make personalized recommendations.
- Order Preparation: Coordinate with the kitchen and barista team to ensure orders are prepared correctly and delivered to customers in a timely manner.
- Maintain Cleanliness: Keep the front counter area, display cases, and condiment station clean, organized, and well-stocked. Monitor and replenish napkins, utensils, and other supplies as needed.
- Customer Feedback: Collect customer feedback and suggestions and share them with the management team to continuously improve our offerings and service.
Qualifications:
- Ability to operate reservation software and Point-of-Sales (POS) systems
- Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask and remain organized in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills and a friendly, approachable demeanor.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
