QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, media communications, communications, public relations or journalism; three to five years of experience in digital, social media and website management; proven work experience as a social media coordinator or related field; or any equivalent combination or training and experience which provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities for the role.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manages the day-to-day social media communications activities with limited supervision, and with support from the Associate Superintendent of Communications and Community Engagement.
Develops, maintains, executes and monitors digital communications strategies and campaigns that build a strong, engaged community of students, families, staff and community stakeholders.
Delivers original, high-quality content, stories, information and brand messaging to the CCS community.
Writes, records, photographs, designs, edits and posts material for use across social media; content gathered via avenues such as visits to schools, meetings, programs and special events.
Monitors social media instant messages and conversations and alerts the Associate Superintendent about challenging discussions, opinions and interests regarding the district; coordinates online feedback and responses to inquiries.
Plans and executes digital media strategies including production and posting for digital platforms and social media channels including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube and LinkedIn; generates, manages, schedules and monitors content for each platform; generates a monthly report to assess social media tactics and enhance messaging.
Develops, implements and manages innovative ideas/promotions/campaigns to drive greater engagement and grow external communities.
Provides creative, technical and graphic support for digital media concepts.
Serves as Cumberland County Schools’ District Web Manager. Manages/maintains multiple department sites.
Develops and facilitates Blackboard Training and open labs for all school and department Web Managers.
Reviews and approves requests for new department websites and user accounts.
Serves as point of contact (POC) for all Web Managers. Provides direction, technical support, and resources to all school and department Web Managers on creating, maintaining, and enhancing a total of 147 websites.
Supervises and analyzes work of web managers and makes recommendations for improvements.
Writes/edits web stories and adds them to front page of website.
Provides copyediting support to department.
Serves as POC with Eplee representatives that manage the CCS Work Perks employee discount website.
Manages and maintains the School System’s Communications’ Intranet Portal; and School News Contacts portals.
Manages databases of CCS’ Handbook Acknowledgements and provides requested information for the Risk Management Department and the Board Attorney.
Researches and gathers information to create ads for external publications, i.e., Pocket Guide, Relocation Guide, MLK Prayer Breakfast, CTE, etc.
Assists with the development of print materials for selected projects including the Annual Report and other district publications.
Supports and assists with the coordination and organization of special events in collaboration with other staff members, including Back-to-School administrative meetings, Board recognitions, High School graduations, Teacher of the Year and Principal of the Year celebrations, family engagement events hosted by the district, and any other project/program planned by the department.
Attends and takes photos at all monthly School Board meetings.
Provides photography services as needed for district activities.
Maintains a high level of confidentiality.
Works flexible hours, including nights and weekends, as necessary to provide prompt responses to social media inquiries and publish timely posts regarding district events on social media and/or the website.

Performs other duties and accepts responsibilities as assigned by the Superintendent.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must possess visual acuity to operate a computer, prepare and maintain records.
Must have finger dexterity and be able to physically perform the basic life functions of talking, hearing, walking, and repetitive motion.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Background check with local and state law enforcement agencies required.
Must possess a valid North Carolina driver’s license.
