Reporting directly to the Shipping Manager, the Shipping Specialists provides operational leadership and coordination for daily shipping department activities. Working collaboratively with Shipping Leads and Shipping Associates, this position helps ensure shipping operations are executed efficiently, safely, and accurately while supporting departmental goals and company-wide operational strategies.
- Coordinate and oversee daily shipping operations to ensure workflow continuity.
- Serve as backup to Shipping Manager as needed.
- Fill in for Shipping Leads when operational coverage is required.
- Conduct planning and execution of new store project operations.
- Coordinate store closing projects including shipment planning and inventory movement.
- Schedule and process LTL pickups with designated freight carriers.
- Work cross-department with managers and leads to ensure operational alignment.
- Plan and assign shipping routes to designated associates.
- Assist with daily labor planning and workflow delegation.
- Develop and oversee continuous improvement initiatives within shipping operations.
- Evaluate and improve department training plans and onboarding procedures.
- Monitor productivity, quality, and safety KPIs within shipping.
- Generate daily operational reports and communicate issues to management.
- Verify outbound shipments against manifests for shipment accuracy.
- Perform audits of trailers, pallet jacks, scanners, and shipping equipment.
- Support departmental initiatives aligned with company operational strategy.
- Promote all company safety standards and operational policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Warehouse Management program superuser.
- Cross-trained in all shipping operational functions.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years warehouse/shipping operations experience preferred.
- Prior leadership experience strongly preferred.
- Experience coordinating logistics and freight shipments preferred.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and operational planning ability.
- Ability to manage multiple operational priorities simultaneously.
- Strong process improvement and problem-solving skills.
- Intermediate Microsoft Office and Outlook skills.
- Ability to create and maintain professional working relationships.
- Forklift certified or able to obtain certification.
- Ability to stand for extended periods during shift.
- Lift up to 50 lbs with or without assistance.
- Work variable hours including overtime as needed.
- Walk, bend, stoop, crouch, and perform repetitive motion activities.
- Operate warehouse equipment safely and efficiently.
Pay: $16.00 - $17.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 – 45 per week
